Qualifications:
- Minimum 23 years of age
- Minimum 2 years verifiable OTR
experience, or 1 year verifiable with certificate from
approved driving school.
- No more than 5 moving violations
in last 3 years. No more than 2 in any twelve month period
- Valid class (A) CDL
- Able to pass DOT physical, drug
test and other evaluations
- No DUI, DWI, alcohol related, or
reckless convictions in the last 10 years
- No more than 2 preventable
accidents in the last 3 years
- No drug offense convictions.
- No felony convictions in the last
10 years
- Good reference - Stable work
history
Texas Star operates the
most advanced, late model tractors in the industry, standup
conventional Freightliners/Peterbilts. They are powered by CAT,
Detroit , and Mercedes engines with 10 speed transmissions. Some
automatic transmissions are available. Tractors are assigned, no
slip seating.
Tractors have
satellite communication systems, air-ride suspensions, air-ride
seats and are fully equipped with am/fm cassette stereos,
satellite radio, speakers, air conditioning, heated mirrors,
power steering, and cruise control power option.
As a part of the employment process, all applicants approved for
hire by Texas Star are required to attend a paid drivers'
training session in Rockwall, TX. Employment begins after
completion of the 3 day orientation class . All employees are on
a 90 day evaluation period to determine performance and working
proficiency.
Driver Pay
Pay per Mile is based on Rand McNally's Mileage Guide Household
Goods (HHG) Version 18.

Owner Operators

Term Disability Insurances Equipment - 1999 or newer
Model Tractors. Fifth wheel no higher than 49 inches.
Beginning on the 3rd settlement, there will be a $50.00
per week deduction until a $2,000 Performance escrow is
reached. Escrow will be returned upon receipt of base
plates, permits, Qualcomm and all other applicable
paperwork.
All owner operators approved for hire by Texas Star are
required to attend a drivers' training session in
Rockwall, TX. Leases start after completion of the
3-day orientation.

The owner shall receive $30 for each
intermediate stop-off for partial loading and/or
unloading excluding the initial pickup and the

The company agrees to pay
all weight charges when the BOL is 40,000 lbs.
or greater.

Base Place/Permits
|
|
The company will provide the base plate/permits,
as long as the tractor stays leased for one
year. If the lease is pulled before one year,
Texas Star will prorate back the unused portion.

|
Driver Referral
Bonus
|
|
Any driver who refers a
qualified candidate will receive a $1,000
referral bonus upon the new driver completing
orientation and their first dispatch.

|
Layover Pay
|
$50.00
|
Maximum of $50.00 after the first twenty-four
(24) hours when driver is required by the fleet
manager to layover.
|
|
Detention
|
$10.00
|
Per hour after four (4)
hours waiting time at the customer facility for
loading and/or unloading up to max of $50.00.
The driver must turn in a completed detention
slip, with the bill of lading, and follow
company procedures involving appointments in
order for payment.

|
Tolls
|
50%
|
Tolls will be reimbursed @ 50% for OK, MO, KS,
and IL, through settlements when it is necessary
to run toll bridges, roads, etc.
